This is the outfit for golfing in Malaga 🙂

In Fuengirola the municipal sports offer has grown exponentially in recent years and all indications are that the trend will continue. The town hall is currently working on obtaining land to build a municipal golf school in Carvajal, the first in the province.

The initiative will have a golf course, a club area, restaurant and parking on a plot of 25,000 square meters located above the Ladera Street, near the suburban train station Carvajal where passes the line C1 that connects Malaga city, Malaga airport, Fuengirola and other major tourist resort, on the Costa del Sol.

Carvajal is the easternmost district of Fuengirola adjoining the popular resort of Benalmadena.

Bike festival on April 10 in Benalmadena

2009 Bike Day White Large Giant LTD - 700c Com...

Take your bike and join the festival

The next April 10 takes place in Benalmádena the 28th edition of the Festival of the Bicycle. This year the eight-kilometre route goes through the streets of Arroyo de la Miel to the Puerto Marina. For the young participants (born between 2003 and 2007) there will be an alternative route on the circuits of the sports centre in Arroyo de la Miel with duration of 20 minutes. All kids who finish this alternative ride will be presented a free entrance to Tivoli World amusement park.

Since it is a party, there will be many prizes for best costumes, with a draw of 34 bikes, hotel stays and restaurant meals. So it is worth to join in, as it is a very funny proposition for the whole family. Registration is now open in different schools and in the two municipal sports centres; until April 6 at the schools and until 8 April at the sports centres.

While the Bike Day, which takes place also on this day in Malaga, Marbella and Fuengirola, has a more assertive character to install bike lanes in the municipalities, the Festival of the Bike in Benalmadena has, like the one in Torremolinos (on April 3rd) a predominantly playful and fun character… but the result will be more or less the same: Enjoy a bike ride with friends and family along the municipalities of the Costa del Sol.

Trekking in Malaga and places to visit

The Path of the King will regain its original appearance after the rehabilitation works.

This beautiful trekking area in Malaga located next to El Chorro between Alora and Ardales is actually badly damaged. Several hikers died trying to cross it which helped to create a black legend after it.

The Path of the King will be available soon for everyone. Those are good news for nature and outdoor holiday lovers.

For those who are thinking about how to get there, there are some possibilities:

  • Check online for car hire Malaga airport offers: Hiring a car at Malaga airport would benefit your budget and will give you the needed mobility.
  • Malaga train station: Taking a train from the Malaga train station is another comfortable option. The train you must take is the train to Seville.

Even if you are not getting to “El Chorro” where the Path of the King is, if you take the train to Seville you will enjoy some beautiful views, do not forget your camera!
